Charlotte Feichtmann, PT, PCS, BCaBA, C/NDT

Charlotte Feichtmann is a licensed Physical Therapist and a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst.. Charlotte’s work spans a variety of pediatric settings. She began as a Physical Therapist at Fairview State Developmental Center providing evaluations and therapy. She served as the lead Physical Therapist at the Orthopedic and Wheelchair clinics. Charlotte was responsible for supervising and teaching student interns and volunteers. Charlotte worked at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) where she was the sole Physical Therapist providing therapy, evaluations, consultations within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Oncology Unit, outpatient, inpatient, and Developmental Clinics. She helped to establish the pediatric department. Charlotte worked at the Blind Children’s Learning Center providing therapy and evaluations. Charlotte contracted her services out to several outpatient pediatric clinics, small group homes, public schools, and hospitals (Western Medical Center) within the Orange County area. Charlotte has been a Regional Center vendor for 20 years, and C.C.S paneled for 15 years.

Charlotte graduated from California State University at Long Beach (CSULB) in 1978 with a BS in physical therapy. She holds a current California State License from the Board of Medical Quality Assurance. She is a Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS) through APTA. Charlotte has been a guest lecturer at CSULB, and hosted clinic classes on Sensory Integration for Chapman University Physical Therapy students. She has vast expertise in the field of pediatric Physical Therapy. She continues to supervise interns and is the clinical coordinator for students from numerous graduate Physical Therapy programs.

Charlotte has taught courses on Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, and The Margaret Rood Approach. She was a guest lecturer abroad regarding Autism and Down’s Syndrome. She has provided physical therapy consultations for patients in several foreign countries.

Charlotte’s trainings and specializations: She is “NDT trained” in pediatrics and babies. She has received specialized training in CranioSacral therapy, Kinesiotaping, Feeding (both sensory and motor based), Sensory Integration, Ordering Equipment/Braces, Torticollis, Social Communication Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support (SCERTS) model , Autism, and Myofascial trigger points/spray and stretch techniques.

Charlotte is a member of the following professional organizations: American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) –California and Pediatric sections, Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA), Kinesio Taping Association (KTA), and California Association of Behavior Analysis (CalABA). Charlotte is NDT certified and has her Board Certified Associate Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) Certification.

She is involved in organizing and leading a local pediatric Physical Therapy Study Group that meets quarterly and has been involved in serving her community through volunteering in various organizations.

Nina Welch, M.A., M.A. Ed., CCC-SLP, BCBA

Nina Welch is a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, Educational Consultant, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Prior to opening her private practice, Nina worked as a special day-class teacher for a communication handicapped classroom in the Anaheim City School District and as a speech/language pathologist. She was a co-author of a grant for Augmentative Technology and worked in the Capistrano Unified School District as an Augmentative Specialist, performing evaluations and providing treatment for children who needed augmentative forms of communication.

Nina worked for the State Diagnostic Center in Los Angeles, serving on the assessment team with a Pediatrician, Neurologist, Occupational Therapist, Educational Therapist, Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, And Motor Development Specialist evaluating children from over 300 school districts when their local school districts had exhausted all local resources. At the Diagnostic Center, Nina served as an administrator where her duties included assisting the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in managing the facility. Nina has worked as a private contractor providing speech evaluations and therapy for clinics, as well as private and public schools within the Orange County Area. Nina graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Master’s Degree in Education. Nina possesses the Clinical Rehabilitative Credential, Administrative Credential, and Certificate of Clinical Competence. Nina has taught graduate level courses at California State University, Long Beach and has guest lectured at California State University, Northridge. Additionally, Nina has taught a course on autism abroad and provided consultations to families in foreign countries regarding autism, oral motor/apraxia and augmentative devices.

Nina is a co-author of a book entitled Identification and Assessment of the Seriously Emotionally Disturbed Child. A Manual for Educational and Mental Health Professionals. Nina has been a vendor for Regional Center of Orange County for over 20 years. Nina has been a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, California Hearing and Speech Association for over 25 years. Nina continues to evaluate and provide treatment for children with communication difficulties. Nina values education and continues to obtain post-graduate training in both fields of Speech Pathology and Behavior Analysis.

Nina is a member of the following professional organizations: American Speech and Language Association (ASHA), California Speech and Hearing Association (CSHA), California Association for Behavior Analysis (CalABA), Association for Behavior Analysts (APBA), and Phi Delta Kappa International (PDK).  Nina has a wide range of expertise with over 30 years of experience in the field of speech pathology.

Our Staff

Administration Staff
Cornerstone Therapies is fortunate to have a competent, experienced administration staff that is essential to the daily operations of the clinic. They are available to assist families with questions regarding scheduling, billing, and general information. Although all members can assist you, if you have specific questions regarding billing you may contact Jill Boocock in our Billing Department and Joyce Kwon in our Human Resources Department. They are committed to increasing their knowledge base and take continuing education courses and participate in bi-monthly in-house trainings and in-servicing. Occupational Therapists
We are proud to have gifted Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. Each holds an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in their field and maintains a current California License plus a National Certification. They have a passion to be the best therapists they can be and have a deep concern for the children that they treat. They increase their knowledge base through continuing education and participate in bi-monthly in-house trainings and in-servicing. Two of our therapists have their SIPT certification, while two have their feeding certification.

Speech-Language Pathologists
We are proud to have experienced Licensed Speech and Language Pathologists, as well as Licensed Speech and Language Assistants. Each of the Speech Pathologists hold Masters level degrees in Speech Pathology along with their Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Our Speech Assistants possess a Bachelors degree in Communicative Disorders, and are currently enrolled in a Masters level Speech Pathology program.

The experience of all our therapists combined is amazing and enables us to serve most children with speech and language problems. Our staff have specialized training in P.E.C.S, Links To Language, P.R.O.M.P.T., Oral Motor/Apraxia, Autism, and Hanen techniques. We have five Hanen Certified Instructors. Our Speech Pathologists increase their knowledge base through continuing education and participate in bi-monthly in house trainings and in-servicing.

Behavior Therapists
We currently have several Behavior Therapists with Bachelors and Masters degrees. Some of our therapists are working toward their Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Experienced and new therapists joining Cornerstone Therapies receive intensive training and supervision. Our Behavior Therapists work alongside other disciplines and receive ongoing training in the areas of Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy.

Group Staff
The Director of the Group Program is Rachel Feichtmann. The staff of the group program consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Infant Stimulation Aides. They are committed to providing an enriched environment for your child in order to help your child succeed. In addition to the therapists specialized areas of expertise the staff is trained in child development to better understand the special needs of preschool children in the areas of play and socialization.
